NSRC focuses on the process leading to the Network Society
using the Baltic Sea region, Catalunya, Silicon Valley, Singapore, and a number of
developing countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America, to study and understand this process.
In the Stockholm region, some of the most important drivers are "user agents",
such as the apartment house owners, the municipalities,
the education and healthcare sectors. They are very active
regarding deployment of infrastructure, development of services
and in their business development.

Seminars
A
seminar series covering the focus areas
was organised during the first half of 2005 to identify
research issues to be included in the research proposal to
Vinnova and to solicit
supporting members that can match the
support from Vinnova.
The seminars were organized as distributed events with participants at
HUT in Helsinki
KTH in Stockholm
UPF in Barcelona
VeA in Ventspils
participating in the seminars via videoconferencing.
Projects
A number of planning
projects were conducted during the first half of 2005
sponsored by the stakeholders.
